Case study
Client: Engineering and Construction Consultancy
Sector: Engineering and Construction Industry
Benefits Experienced by the Client:
Improved Stakeholder Management
- Improved stakeholder engagement skills
- An improved approach to stakeholder management which could be shared across their organisation Practice
Strategic Objective:
Effective Stakeholder Engagement
A very successful consultancy providing strategic, technical and management advice and assistance to public and private sector clients involved in the development and implementation of major transport and accommodation projects, this consultancy has a very impressive track record. They have in fact been involved in the development of most of the major rail infrastructure projects in London over the last 20 years.
This Engineering and Construction Consultancy contacted Maven with a very specific need – they wanted to increase their ability to manage stakeholders in their clients’ assignments and ensure a consistent approach throughout their organisation.
The Solution Provided:
Advanced Stakeholder Engagement
Maven Training provided an advanced stakeholder engagement workshop tailored to the client’s needs using one of their own case studies to provide the context and basis for activities.
The workshop enabled them to benchmark their own processes, tools and techniques against recognised best practice and to identify opportunities to tailor tools and techniques to their clients’ situations, experiences and expectations.
The workshop was attended by a group of civil engineers, land property consultants and other key professionals working on rail projects, who would then take the resulting approach back to their organisation to adopt as their standard for stakeholder engagement.
Working together:
Experts Sharing Experience and Best Practice
This respected Engineering and Construction Consultancy contacted Maven Training, as a leading provider of project and programme management and stakeholder engagement training, to see if they could provide advanced level workshops.
Working together was very much a meeting of the minds; as an organisation with considerable experience in stakeholder management, the client were looking to benchmark their own practices and benefit from the experience gathered by the Maven team over centuries of combined experience in project and programme management.
The client’s current approach and key issues formed the basis of a workshop that then incorporated best practice and recognised stakeholder engagement processes to generate the dialogue needed to refine the client’s approach.
The Delegate/Client Experience
“We can now engage effectively with all of our stakeholders on every level possible.”
