- Keep in middle lanes then at traffic signals continue forward (signposted City Centre, Birkenhead, Wallasey)
- At traffic signals turn right onto the B5340 (signposted Royal Liverpool Hospital, City Centre, Birkenhead, Wallasey)
- At traffic signals continue forward onto Erskine Street then
- Bear left onto the A580 (one-way), then immediately Keep in left-hand lanes then continue forward (signposted City Centre, Birkenhead, Wallasey)
- At traffic signals keep in left-hand lane to bear left onto Islington - A57 (signposted Widnes A561)
- At traffic signals turn left onto Commutation Row (signposted Widnes A561)
- At traffic signals continue forward onto Lime Street

Starting out from the A57, continue forward on to the M602 and then on to the M62, then follow signs to Liverpool
