Learning objectives

  • Understand the activities and decisions that govern a change initiative and how this translates into a senior management 'Change Sponsor' role
  • Review the responsibilities for senior level stakeholder communication and engagement and the relationship between the Change Sponsor, the Change Manager and those impacted by change
  • Understand where reviews and decision points need to be in the Business Change Lifecycle and create checklists for key decisions
  • Create the information flow that supports the sponsorship role, establishing the scope, frequency, format and distribution of progress information, requests for scope changes and risk and issue reporting
  • Participants will build their own role definitions clarifying their level of authority and the amount of authority they are willing to delegate to the Change Manager.
