IT Infrastructure Library® Qualifications scheme
The ITIL Service Management Foundation certificate is designed to provide a foundation level of knowledge in IT Service Management and is aimed at anyone who wants to become familiar with best practice in IT service management. The Foundation Certificate will enable the delegate to understand the main concepts, benefits, impacts, techniques and methods associated with each of the IT service delivery and service support processes.
It will also enable delegates to understand the major deliverable, roles, tasks and responsibilities expected from service suppliers, clients, managers and staff.
The ISEB Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management examination is a closed book, one hour, 40 question multiple-choice paper. The pass mark is 65%.
The Practitioner qualification is aimed at those who are responsible within their organisation for designing specific processes within IT Service Management, and performing the activities that belong to those processes.
There are number of ITIL training courses modules that you can choose to sit, depending on the areas of IT management that are most important to you. The Practitioner’s Certificates focus on the depth of understanding and application of those subjects, treating each subject as specialist. The different specialist processes include: Incident Management; Problem Management; Configuration Management; Availability Management; Capacity Management; Change Management; Service Level Management; Security Management and Financial Management.
Candidate must hold a Foundation certificate to sit this qualification.
The ISEB Practitioner exam process can take 2 forms: a single 120 minute, closed book examination. Or a written paper, 60 minutes for answering the written section and 60 minutes for answering a multiple choice paper. Exams are based on case studies. Delegates must achieve a minimum of 50% in each exam, and a combined overall total of 65%.
The Manager’s Certificate is aimed at those who need to demonstrate a capability for managing ITIL®-based solutions across the breadth of the Service Management subjects.
Candidates must hold a Foundation certificate to sit this qualification.
The ISEB Manager's Certificate examination consists of two, three-hour written papers taken over two days at an ISEB examination centre.
