PRINCE2® Examination Information
You may find it useful to understand the format and duration of the examinations to assist you in your preparation.
The PRINCE2® Foundation Exam is a short multiple-choice style examination with 75 questions to be taken in one hour. Five of the questions are trial questions but you will not know which these are so you are expected to answer all questions. This is a closed book examination and to do well you will need to be familiar with the Principles of PRINCE2®, the terminology, its processes and themes. This includes understanding the purpose and responsibilities of each role, the relationship between the processes, themes, roles and techniques and the PRINCE2® management products.
The PRINCE2® Practitioner exam is in 9 sections, each worth 12 marks covering different parts of the syllabus. The examination is open book. The examination lasts for 150 minutes (2.5 hours). There is sufficient time to become familiar with the scenario that is provided with the examination paper and to understand the format of the questions.
The examiner is interested in your ability to demonstrate that you can use the PRINCE2® Processes, Themes and Management Products to deal with the project scenario with which you have been presented. Therefore, your answers will be based on the manual but a good level of understanding of project management will be necessary to enable you to identify the correct answers
