Practitioner and Re-Registration exams

Maven

Prince2 Practitioner & Re-Registration exams

Both Foundation and Practitioner qualifications never expire.

However, to maintain your status as a Registered Prince2 Practitioner and to be visible on the Successful Candidates Register (this demonstrates that you are up to date with current knowledge, essential in the current economic client, and acts towards CPD’s) you must renew the qualification, ideally every 5 years.

There is no set timescale in which you need to renew the Registered Qualification, but the guideline set down by the exam board, the APMG, is every 5 years.

If you do wish to keep your knowledge and qualification current then you have the choice of 2 exams:

Re-Registration

  • 1 hour
  • Objective Test Exam
  • 55% pass mark (20/36)
  • Will be 3 questions from any one of the current Practitioner papers

Practitioner

  • 2.5 hours
  • Objective Test Exam
  • 55% pass mark (59/108)
  • 9 questions (12 marks each)

Maven would recommend that if you are confident in your ability in all areas of the syllabus then the 1 hour re-registration paper would be the most appropriate.

If you’re re-visiting the syllabus after a long break and a new version of the manual has been introduced in that time, and possibly a change in the exam format, then you may be more comfortable with the 2.5 hour practitioner paper, as failure to grasp one area may not necessarily impact the exam result.
