This event examines the balance between Project Work and Business as usual and identifies the need for effective management of projects. The course will present the use of PRINCE2™ from a Senior Management Perspective and emphasis is given to the identification of control and decision points throughout the Project Lifecycle. Issues relating to the implementation and use of PRINCE2™ in the organisation will be explored. The course is trained by an experienced accredited PRINCE2™ trainer, with Board Level experience in a range of industries

· Explain the structure of PRINCE2™ and its contribution to the Strategic Management of an organisation
· Define the responsibilities of the Project Sponsor and other key decision makers within the project
· Identify the controls within PRINCE2™ to ensure delivery of the objectives
· Consider the challenges of using PRINCE2™ in the organisation

Course Content |

Introduction to the project management environment
· Define the differences between Project Management and Business as usual and explain the core principles of Project Management and the factors that lead to project success
· Overview of the PRINCE2™ method, including key concepts and terms and an overview of the project lifecycle using the PRINCE2™ Process Model
· Explain the concept of management by Exception, Management Stages and Tolerances
Project Organisation Structure and the use of Key documentation
· Overview of the Organisation Structure and the key responsibilities for each role
· Explain the importance of the Business Case to the initial and ongoing viability of the project, use of the Project Plan to establish the control points during the life of the project, and use of the Project Initiation Document as a baseline measure of progress
Implementing PRINCE2™
· Addressing the challenges of using PRINCE2™ and the organisational benefits
· Identifying potential organisational benefits of using PRINCE2™
