Project Brief

The PRINCE2 Project Brief is required to enable a project to progress from a good idea or Feasibility Study to a formal request to the Project Board. The contents of the Project Brief will eventually be expanded into a Project Initiation Document (PID), which contains the detailed project plan. However, this will only occur if the Project Board believes that the project is worthwhile, and viable. The Project Initiation Document should be written during the Initiation Stage of the project.
The PRINCE2 Project Brief is generally short and provides an overview of the proposed project. When a Feasibility Study has taken place the PRINCE2 Project Brief should refer to the Feasibility study rather than reproduce it.
