Stakeholder Identification and Management Workshop

This one day event is designed to help Delegates identify all relevant Stakeholders for their projects. From this identification, Delegates will be shown a structured method for analyzing the importance of the Stakeholders and design appropriate communication plans to address their needs. This is a very practical course, with lots of opportunities for Delegates to use knowledge of their own projects in the exercises. To complete the workshop and give the Delegates an opportunity to apply the structure and the techniques that they have been shown, a case study will be used towards the end of the workshop for further practice.

Learning Objectives

·   To understand the definition of a Stakeholder
·   To understand the role, the requirements and the contribution of Stakeholders within a project
·   To identify a structured approach for the definition of a Stakeholder
·   Learn how to map the importance and impact of each Stakeholder
·   Create a communications plan to address the needs of each Stakeholder

 Course Content

Stakeholder definition and identification
·   What and who are Stakeholders?
·   Where do they fit into the organisation structure of a project?
·   Stakeholder identification techniques
 
Stakeholder Analysis
·   Using the importance/impact matrix to analyze Stakeholders
·   Creating a stakeholder map of interests in the project
 
Communications Planning
·   An overview of the 8 processes within PRINCE2, and how they are used throughout the lifecycle of the project
·   Identification of the control points within the Project Lifecycle and those responsible for applying control
 
Practical Work
·   Using a case study, Delegates will undertake Stakeholder identification and analysis. From this work, they will create a communications plan for the stakeholders and select appropriate communication methods. This practical work will include team discussions and presentation back to the other Delegates and identification of good practice that Delegates will take with them after the course

·   Stakeholders including The Project Manager, The Project Team, The Functional Manager and the Sponsor
·   individuals and organizations that are actively involved in the project, or whose interests may be affected as a result of project execution or project completion

·   Course runs 9am – 5:30pm with a break for lunch
