Training for project managers and project team members

Introduction to PRINCE2

This course will enable delegates to gain an overview of the PRINCE2 Methodology and an understanding of the basic concepts that support it. The course will concentrate on explaining what PRINCE2 is, and the benefits of using the method, both on a personal and a corporate basis. There will be discussions of common project difficulties, their causes, and how PRINCE2 can be used to overcome these. The course will be tailored to include discussion relating the PRINCE2 model to your own projects, and your own working environment.

PRINCE2 Foundation

This is an examination-based course, which gives delegates accreditation at PRINCE2 Foundation level. The course equips delegates with a detailed knowledge of the method, working through each stage of pre-project preparation and the project lifecycle. The course will detail how to initiate projects, including the documentation to be produced such as the Project Initiation Document and the Business Case. It will then move on to product delivery and controlling each stage of the project, from both the perspective of the Project Manager and the Project Board. The course will then address the issues surrounding project completion.

PRINCE2 Practitioner Consolidation

This is an examination-based course, which gives delegates accreditation at PRINCE2 Practitioner level. The course assumes that the delegate has passed the PRINCE2 Foundation level examination. Delegates for this course will build on their knowledge of the structure and content of PRINCE2 and turn this knowledge into an understanding of the practical application of the method. Time will be given to practise written exercises using training Practitioner exam questions under simulated exam conditions.

PRINCE2 Combined Foundation and Practitioner

This is an examination-based course, which gives delegates accreditation at PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner level. The course equips delegates with a detailed knowledge and structure of the method, working through each stage of pre-project preparation and the project lifecycle. The course will detail how to initiate projects, including the documentation to be produced such as the Project Initiation Document and the Business Case. It will then move on to product delivery and controlling each stage of the project, from both the perspective of the Project Manager and the Project Board. The course will then address the issues surrounding project completion.

Introduction to Project Management

This course provides delegates with a broad introduction to the concepts of project management. The course will clarify what constitutes a project and identify the core principles of project management.

The contents of the course will be structured upon a generic project lifecycle, which is in three parts: Getting Started, Making Progress and Closing Down.

The course is suitable for those who are new to the project management role, and for which project management will be in addition to their ‘business as usual’ management responsibilities. In addition, the course is suitable for those involved in a project support role, and who would benefit from understanding what projects are, and the lifecycle of a project.

Principles of Project Management

This course provides delegates with a hands-on introduction to the theories and concepts of project management. The course will clarify what constitutes a project and identify the core principles of project management.

The contents of the course will be structured upon a generic project lifecycle, which is in three parts: Getting Started: Making Progress and Closing Down.

The focus of the course is on learning project management concepts and then immediately applying them. The course is centred around activities based on a case study taking delegates through the project lifecycle from beginning to end. By using this case study, the delegates will undertake exercises, games and activities bringing theory to life in a safe environment.
