MT Development Staff
| Simon and Asiya Level 1 - Support Level Simon joined MT Developments Ltd six months ago and has taken on a job as a support officer for one of the organisation’s biggest projects. Asiya has been working there for a while longer doing admin for the company’s normal operations and she was recently appointed to work alongside Simon. They are supervised by Julia, a Project Manager, who has been giving them directions and providing them with specific workloads – Simon and Asiya know that they have little autonomy over their day-to-day activities and are not responsible for managing others. The courses on the first column are most suited for Simon and Asiya and will help them develop the basic knowledge and skills needed to work effectively and successfully in a project and programme-based environment. |
Anna and Pedro Level 2 - Advanced Support and Supervision Level Anna is responsible for the day to day management of small tasks that support projects, programmes and other business activities within MT Developments Ltd, and she has already achieved a certain degree of autonomy. Pedro has joined MT Developments Ltd’s Projects and Programmes Support Office recently and his role is to supervise his colleagues who perform similar work to Anna. Although Pedro supervises some support office staff, he has very specific and limited responsibility for planning, staffing, work allocation and financial control on the projects and programmes. The courses on the second column are the most relevant to Anna and Pedro, as they will help them expand their essential understanding as well as gain the required skills to work efficiently. |
Xang and Ingrid Level 3- New to Projects and Programmes/Line Manager/Consultant/Specialist Last year Ingrid was tasked with running discrete parts of one of MT Developments Ltd’s projects and Xang has been a member of the core team of one of MT Developments Ltd‘s programmes for two years. They both have autonomy over what they do on a day to day basis and they understand how their activities are aligned with the objectives of the project and programme they are currently working on. Ingrid has been an operational manager for two years, so supervising the day to day work of her staff is something she has to do alongside performing her own tasks. The programme in which Xang is currently involved in is of a very specific nature and his responsibility includes managing a small group of experts so that they deliver the products on time. Xang and Ingrid have started to consider moving into a role with increased responsibility. The courses on the third column will provide Xang and Ingrid with the knowledge and skills they’ll need to develop and progress their careers. |
Julia and Piotr Level 4- Projects and Programme Leader/Manager/Senior Consultant/Specialist Julia currently manages a team of 15 people and is responsible for the delivery of project outputs. She has been operating at management level by leading MT Developments Ltd projects for three years and she is now moving onto managing one of the organisation’s programmes. Piotr is not a practising manager, but is recognised as an authority on a particular area of MT Developments Ltd. They are both responsible for communicating progress to Senior Management at and they are involved in developing and implementing the strategy required to achieve operational and/or organisational goals. The courses on the fourth column will equip Julia and Piotr with an in-depth knowledge of the tools and techniques required for them to proficiently carry out their responsibilities. |
David and Maria Level 5 - Senior Manager/ Director/ Board Member/ Sponsor David and Maria are very high-up on the MT Developments Ltd organisational chart and their roles have a significant organisational impact – Maria is a Director and David is a member of the Board. They are both responsible for the strategic sign-off of some of MT Developments Ltd’s projects and programmes and they also make strategic choices (development and implementation) for the direction of the company’s operational activities. The courses on the fifth column will supply these two very senior people with the knowledge and skills they need to lead and guide senior and middle managers’ work activities. |
