Course Introduction

The job of a Business Analyst is to extend their traditional role of developing and maintaining IT systems. A Business Analyst must familiarize with the business strategy, use proven techniques to analyze the business area, and identify changes to business processes needed to meet internal and external challenges. The objective of this course is to develop the skills that are required from professionals to work with their senior management in order to analyze and model business activities. Delegates learn how to recommend business problems and recommend solutions for the same.

This certificate course is concerned with some of the strategic aspects of business analysis. Its focus is on using a complete approach to the investigation and improvement of business situations while developing effective, feasible business solutions. There are two key elements to the syllabus:

  • The development of a business strategy
  • The exploration of a business issue, whether a problem or opportunity

First, the delegates are required to understand a range of strategic analysis and performance management techniques. Second, they are required to be able to apply strategic business change techniques within a defined framework.

Though there are no prerequisites for this course, however, candidates are required to bring photograph identification along with them as it is required by BCS to produce it for the invigilator prior to the exam. In case the delegate fails to do so he/she may be barred from sitting the exam. For an acceptable form of identification please contact your Account Manager.

BCS allows additional time for candidates who have a disability or whose native language differs to that of the examination paper. The details are provided in the BCS Reasonable Adjustments Policy which a delegate can find on the BCS website. If a delegate qualifies for this then it should be notified the Exam Administration team on the details below as early as possible. At least two weeks' notice will be required for processing this request. Delegates failing to do so, may not be allowed the additional support offered via the BCS policy.
